Head Lamp - GMC Terrain Denali

GMC Terrain Denali - Head Lamp

It is front lamp (lower half) of the new GMC Denali SUV. It is black in color and is still on display right behind the main information desk at the Mushriff Mall Abu Dhabi.

Pendant Lamp

Hanging Lamp

A pendant lamp I saw somewhere hanging in front of almost perfect medium grey background in a perfect ambiance, it turned out to be more of a lifestyle editorial kind of an image.

This is again with an iPhone. The resolution of an image is not as huge as the DSLR but it isn't unacceptable, for example this one is 2354px x 1765px actual size, which for web I've converted to 1200px long side like any other images I resize.

The mobility, the reasonable resolution and to shoot without getting unnecessary attention is worth doing it with a smaller camera. I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

Bili The Fire Extinguisher

Fire Extinguisher - Abu Dhabi Bus Terminal

I was visiting my Dubai office the other day. While waiting for my bus at Abu Dhabi Bus Terminal, I was looking around for somethings interesting enough to shoot.

This was one of many (Bili) the fire extinguisher that had been put up on the wall. They are all in the open so the colors are all faded. The picture I took had some what faded instructions/ details on the cylinder which were printed on it more of like a stamp. To bring out some detail I added lot of contrast to this image which also gave me very saturated colors. It's been a while I've gone this route production wise. The first option, saturated reds and yellows made a very vibrant and grungy image. I wanted to try and see if I could process it in some other ways with may be less vibrance, so I ended up doing four different versions of it. In the end I guess the first one still stood out more then the rest but I think they were all worth putting on the blog and together look even better.

You can look at each one of them by hiding the others and then may be compare all at once.

View from my Office - Twofour54

View from Twofour54

This is almost 180 degree view from my office window. The view isn't of huge interest on this side of the building and the picture isn't taken at golden hour either. It's just too exciting for me to capture an image with such good quality and how it turned out, no doubt the mobile phones are replacing point and shoot cameras.

This was taken with a Phone camera. It feels like unlimited creativity is at your finger tips. It triggers the inspiration and changes the way you look at things. I hope I don't get use to it very quickly and start taking it for granted.

Took this with the same app I used previously for taking panos on my iPad, works amazingly well every time :)

Sands of Tal Moreeb (Moreeb Dunes)

Sands of Tal Moreeb (Moreeb Dunes)

This was around Tal Moreeb* sand dunes. It was a good trip with 12 people from the meet up. We arrived early morning and stayed there for around two and a half hours or so. I had not seen the sky so full of stars before. Had a great time shooting there.

*Tal Moreeb (Scary Mountain) is the one of the highest sand hills in the world with the 50 degrees of stipface. if you live in UAE / Middle east and have watched any of the local sports channels where they show 4wheel drags  trying to get on top the hill, this is where it happens.
